Omega Psi Phi Pi Nu Chapter Hosts Annual Talent Hunt, Crowns Pianist Jonathan Aina as Winner

The Pi Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. hosted its annual Talent Hunt on Saturday evening at the historic “Purple Church,” showcasing young artistic talent in a spirited celebration of the arts. The event featured four contestants, each delivering powerful performances in front of a live audience and a panel of esteemed judges.

Emerging as the first-place winner was pianist Jonathan Aina, a sophomore at Miami Lakes Educational Center, whose skillful and emotive performance earned him top honors. Aina will go on to represent the Pi Nu Chapter and the Seventh District at the upcoming Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt in Jacksonville, Florida.

This tradition, which began in 1946 in Charlotte, North Carolina, remains a cornerstone of Omega Psi Phi’s commitment to youth development and cultural enrichment. The Talent Hunt was designed to provide exposure, encouragement, and recognition to talented high school students across the country.

This year’s panel of judges included accomplished professionals in the arts: Wayne Bumpers, Avice Warren, and Deana Rahming, who praised the caliber and passion of each performance.

“The Talent Hunt is more than a competition,” said Talent Hunt Chairman Roy Modkins. “It’s an opportunity to inspire and uplift the next generation of artists. Jonathan’s performance was exceptional, and we’re proud to have him represent Pi Nu at the state level.”

The event continues to serve as a platform for youth excellence and a testament to Omega Psi Phi’s longstanding commitment to academic and artistic achievement.
