Homestead Illuminates for a Night of Black History Celebration

By The Culture
A vibrant energy filled the air at Losner Park for the second annual Black History Celebration. The sea of people gathered, to take in a day full of food, games and live musical performances by 80s R&B group Surface as well as the enchanting Regina Belle.
WEDR’s DJ Nasty lit the crowd with line dances and Miami’s soundtrack. Regina Belle’s soulful voice echoed through the night, while Surface transported everyone back to the golden era of music.
The atmosphere was electric, a testament to the community’s longing to celebrate their rich Black History.  Amidst the melodies, diverse activities unfolded – from a culinary journey with local food trucks to engaging Black History trivia games and Karaoke. It was friendly competition.
The family-friendly zone buzzed with laughter as kids immersed themselves in specially curated activities. The vendor showcase added a unique touch, offering a range of products and services that highlighted the richness of Black culture.
The Black History Celebration in the Park was not just a festival; it was a vibrant tapestry weaving history, culture, and unity into the fabric of Homestead.
