MIAMI ART WEEK IS HERE

Art Basel is here Miami and has birthed many art experiences throughout the county to include Soul Basel, Art of Black Miami, Art Transformation, and others.  We’ve compiled an exquisite list of activities to enjoy. Baseling is not for the novice. Pace yourself. Let’s get into it:

Enjoy the celebration of artists, exhibits and art initiatives represented locally and abroad featuring significant works inspired by Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Hip-Hop and beyond.

Some featured events include:

Art Beat Miami, an annual satellite art fair presented by Little Haiti Optimist Club, December 6-10, 2023. Exhibits will be at The Caribbean Marketplace, Joseph Caleb Center, Brightline Miami Central Station and online.

The Miami Museum of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora, Miami MoCAAD, kicking off Soul Basel and Miami Art Week immersed in the digital space. Miami MoCAAD will premiere its documentary and digital exhibition titled “This Life: Black Life in the Time of Now.”

Check out The Dynasty, a Tribute to Shawn Carter – it’s an audio and visual experience with Panel Moderator, Papa Keith at PS Social.  The Dynasty shows appreciation for the Jay Z’s contributions and influence on today’s culture.  This is a tribute event that is not to be missed.

Councilwoman Kassandra Timothé joins Studio Vision Studios to celebrate an industry red carpet affair with a live performance by Ceelo Green at Audio Vision Studios.  There will be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, industry professionals and music executives.

December 8-9 at the Temple House in Miami Beach, pull up and join the in-crowd at EBONY FWD, a two-day multimedia experience exploring Black artistic voices. An immersive curated selection of Black creator storytelling, special guest speakers, live musical performance and more.

MUSE Art Fair Presents No More Starving Artists.  The Fair includes a curated eclectic mix of paintings, photographs and sculptures featuring Black, Caribbean, Multicultural and Women artists residing throughout South Florida, U.S., and abroad. The event includes an opening reception and is open daily from noon to 8pm. The fair is free and open to the public.

December 7-10th at The Point Comfort Art Fair + Show 2023 is a surround-sound experience of ART, CONVERSATIONS, and Community. This year’s mantra is Be For the Culture/Before the Culture: Celebrating Hip Hop’s Golden Jubilee. It is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip hop. Point Comfort Art Fair + Show is in Historic Overtown at the Historic Ward Rooming House during Miami Art Week/Art Basel/Soul Basel 2023.

Headliner presents a theatrical album, visual screening and after party at The Urban celebrating the release of Welcome to Collie Grove by 2 Chains doors open at seven show starts at 9:30.  If you’ve been to a Headliner Event then you already know what time it is.

The Ten North Group presents Art of Transformation. The arts festival in the architecturally distinct city of Opa-locka will offer six exhibitions, including works from Puerto Rican artists, a sculpture pavilion, a book installation resisting the erasure of Black literature, and works from Ten North Group’s extensive collection of art from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Diaspora.
