  • Homestead/Florida City Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast – Friday, Jan. 13
    Honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at a free community breakfast at the Phichol Williams Community Center
  • MLK Health & Hope Community 5K + Empowerment Party – Saturday, Jan. 14
    The event will begin at 7am with a community 5k run/walk. Following the 5K, the empowerment party will include, music, food, community panel, sneaker giveaway and other prizes.
  • Martin Luther King Weekend Overtown Bike Ride – Sunday, Jan. 15
    Join Friends of The Underline and Dade Heritage Trust on a ride through Overtown, one of Miami’s most historic areas
  • 46th Annual MLK Parade and Festivites – Monday, Jan. 16
    Scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the planned 2.5-hour Liberty City route running from Northwest 54th Street and 10th Avenue to 32nd Avenue, the parade follows 8 miles of sacred ground that Dr. King once traveled during his frequent engagements in Miami

    • Pre-Parade 5K Run & Fitness Walk – Monday Jan. 16
      Participate in the annual 5K Run & Fitness Walk, which begins at 8 a.m. at the MLK Plaza Metrorail Station. Runners should arrive for registration between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m.
    • MLK Holiday Festival – Monday, Jan. 16
      Following the parade the festivities continue at noon with Miami-Dade Parks at the MLK Memorial Park with live music, dance and theatrical performances, a crafts marketplace, food vendors and children’s activities

  • MLK Day of Service at Gwen Cherry Park – Saturday, Jan. 14
    Volunteer during Miami-Dade Park’s MLK Day of Service to enrich and engage the community at Gwen Cherry Park helping to plant herbs, vegetables, and plants for pollinators
  • MLK Day Service Project by Greater Miami Service Corps. – Saturday, Jan. 14
    Volunteer effort includes painting, mulching, litter removal and plantings. Breakfast snacks and refreshments provided
  • Environmentally Endangered Lands MLK Day of Service – Monday, Jan. 16
    Participate in a Martin Luther King Day of Service at DERM-EEL’s Pine Rockland Preserve at Tropical Park Pineland Preserve 9 a.m. – noon.
  • City Year Miami’s MLK Day of Service – Monday, Jan. 16
    Join City Year Miami for a day “on” not a day “off” at the annual MLK Day of Service to celebrate the legacy Dr. King’s legacy of service.
  • YMCA of South Florida’s 2023 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Of Service – Monday, Jan. 16
    Volunteers can assist with different community projects and bring non-perishable items to benefit the La Bodega community food pantry.
