RICHMOND HEIGHTS’ WELCOMES HOME MIAMI DOLPHINS’ SHELDRICK REDWINE TO LEAD INAUGURAL FOOTBALL CAMP

Richmond Heights welcomed home Miami Dolphins’ Sheldrick Redwine for his 1st Boys & Girls Youth Football Camp at Sgt. Joseph Delancy Park in Richmond Heights on Saturday, July 23rd. Redwine’s unique story began at the age of 4 at that same park, called Richmond Park back then, playing in the Pee Wee Football League.

He went on to excel in football at Miami Killian Senior High and received a scholarship to the University of Miami. It’s no wonder Redwine had to memorialize his inaugural football camp in Richmond Heights.

Campers learned not only the skills for a healthy football journey but so much more. With the assistance of the Gloria Redwine Foundation, campers were also exposed to a day of financial literacy, mental health awareness, as well as defensive tactic training.

During an interview for the yet-to-be-released DocuSeries “Miami’s Richmond Heights: The Black Shangri-La,” Redwine revealed that this camp was very monumental to him. It will allow him to share with youth in South-Dade that there are people in the NFL that come back and give. That is his mission. Redwine was joined for the camp by other NFL players to answer questions from campers, share life experiences, and provide real hands-on experience for campers.
