Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee elected to serve as the President of National Association of Black County Officials
Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee, former Florida House Minority Leader, has been elected to serve as the next president of the National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO) at this year’s National Association of Counties (NACo) Conference, held in Denver, CO. The induction ceremony was held on Friday, July 22, and Commissioner McGhee’s two-year term to lead officials from over 3,000 member counties is effective immediately.
“I am honored to serve as the next president for NABCO/NOBCO. My executive team and I are excited to showcase NABCO/NOBCO’s progress, while continuing to advocate for issues affecting our member counties,” said Commissioner McGhee.
Founded in 1975, NABCO is a forum for networking, information and resource sharing, and issue advocacy on behalf of African-American elected and appointed county officials throughout the United States. NABCO, which is based in Washington, D.C., has emerged as one of the most influential caucuses advocating before federal policymakers on behalf of African-American officials.
