MIAMI WEB SERIES FESTIVAL RETURNS LIVE IN JUNE
Miami Web Series Festival, known to the world as “Miami Web Fest” will returns to host an in-person event June 10 th – 13 th , with events in Wynwood, North Miami Beach, and Sunny Isles. The 4-day festival showcases new and innovative web series content from around the world in all genre and presents awards in over 20 categories. The event is designed to create a work-play environment, attracting South Florida’s vast and multicultural community of arts enthusiasts. It features celebrity guests, film industry panels, seminars, workshops, and an awards gala. Miami Web Fest is non-profit 501(c)(3) founded by award-winning filmmaker and US army veteran Bryan G Thompson, known for his comedy and action films produced in association with the South Florida-based distribution company Maverick Entertainment.
Seminars and panels in Miami Web Fest 2021 will focus on helping independent filmmakers to gain strategic knowledge for navigating the industry and monetizing content. Topics will include Distribution, Diversity in the Arts, Post-Covid Filmmaking, Filming in Florida, and more. Official Selections from the festival include producers from a multitude of countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Germany, and the United Kingdom along with domestic content from throughout the country. Speakers and judges for the festival include executives from Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Viacom, and Maverick Entertainment.
Miami Web Fest welcomes various celebrity guests for their first live event since the pandemic. DJ EFN, famous for his hit program “Drink Champs” on Revolt TV (the network owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs) will present a panel entitled “The Come Up” in which he and his associates share tips for monetizing film content. Filmmaker Cristobal Ross, the director of the Netflix series “Gringolandia” will discuss how he turned a low-budget Youtube series into an
international hit. Internationally renowned recording artist Osmani “La Voz” Garcia; local talent, KingNyne, as well as Jessi Campo will perform during the Miami Web Fest Awards Gala on Sunday, June 13, at the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles.
