💼 Small Businesses. Big Opportunities. Stronger Co 💼 Small Businesses. Big Opportunities. Stronger Communities.

North Miami put entrepreneurship and economic empowerment in the spotlight during the 2026 District 4 Small Business Expo, held August 21 at the Joe Celestin Center.

Presented by District 4 Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles, M.Ed., the expo created a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs, established business owners, and community leaders to connect, exchange knowledge, and explore opportunities for business growth.

Featuring keynote speaker Jeff Lozama, CEO of CMS International Group, alongside local business and economic development leaders, the event highlighted the importance of collaboration, access to resources, and strengthening North Miami's entrepreneurial landscape.

The message was clear: When small businesses have access to the right connections, knowledge, and opportunities, the entire community stands to benefit.

As North Miami continues to champion local entrepreneurship, initiatives like the District 4 Small Business Expo reinforce the role small businesses play in building a stronger, more resilient local economy.

Stay connected. Stay empowered. Stay cultured.

Building wealth. Creating opportunity. Leaving a l Building wealth. Creating opportunity. Leaving a legacy. 💼✨

Black excellence and economic empowerment took center stage as the Black Professionals Network (BPN) hosted its 2026 LegacyCon Summit, presented by Hard Rock, on October 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida.

Under the theme “The Mission is Possible,” the summit brought together entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and industry leaders for conversations centered on financial literacy, business ownership, professional advancement, innovation, and generational wealth.

Through keynote discussions, interactive workshops, and strategic networking, LegacyCon reinforced an important message: building a legacy goes beyond personal success. It's about creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and positioning the next generation to thrive.

Because when Black professionals connect with purpose, the impact extends far beyond the room.

Stay connected. Stay empowered. Stay cultured.

🖤 Celebrating Black Business. Recognizing Local Im 🖤 Celebrating Black Business. Recognizing Local Impact.

Throughout August, Miami-Dade County turned the spotlight on Black entrepreneurship in recognition of Black Business Month, celebrating the businesses, innovators, and community leaders contributing to the county's economic and cultural landscape.

As part of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce's efforts to recognize Black-owned businesses, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava visited businesses across the county, including Hip Rock Star Agency, founded by marketing and communications leader Jessica Garrett Modkins; Lavish Touch Hair, founded by Gasline Dessources; and Upright Spine Center, founded by Dr. Amber Williams.

During her visit, Mayor Levine Cava received an inside look at Hip Rock Star Agency's upcoming projects, ongoing initiatives, and publications that help inform, connect, and engage communities throughout South Florida.

The visit highlighted the important role Black-owned businesses play not only in driving economic activity, but also in amplifying community voices, creating opportunities, and preserving local culture.

Black Business Month is more than a celebration. It's a reminder that investing in Black businesses means investing in the communities they serve.

Here's to the entrepreneurs, visionaries, and businesses continuing to shape Miami-Dade's future.

Stay connected. Stay empowered. Stay cultured.

Before the Spotlight: A Moment with Kandi Burruss Before the Spotlight: A Moment with Kandi Burruss at Teach to Fish before being Bestowed with the Key to the City of North Miami

Some of the most meaningful moments at a business summit happen before anyone takes the stage.

During the 2026 Teach to Fish Business Summit, Jessica Garrett Modkins, shared a behind-the-scenes moment with Grammy Award-winning entertainer and entrepreneur Kandi Burruss, ahead of Burruss' highly anticipated Lunch & Learn experience.

Kandi's journey across entertainment, entrepreneurship, and business ownership offered a compelling perspective for a summit dedicated to equipping entrepreneurs with the tools and insight to grow.

And while the audience gathered to learn from her experience, this candid exchange offered a glimpse into the connections that make events like Teach to Fish meaningful beyond the stage.

Because sometimes the most powerful part of the conversation happens before the microphone is turned on.

Football, culture, and community came together at the 2026 Orange Blossom Classic, where Miami-based Able Business Services stepped into the spotlight as the event's presenting sponsor.

Held September 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, the historic HBCU football tradition brought together the South Carolina State Bulldogs and Florida A&M Rattlers for a celebration extending far beyond the field.

Founded by William L. Berry Sr., Able Business Services marked its partnership with an interactive Fan Fest activation built around the campaign “Able to Upgrade You!” The experience introduced fans to the company's products and services through branded experiences, giveaways, and opportunities for engagement.

For a Black-owned, family-operated company with more than 25 years of service in South Florida, the partnership represented an opportunity to connect business innovation with a longstanding celebration of Black educational and cultural excellence.

More than a football game, the Orange Blossom Classic continues to serve as a platform for HBCU visibility, community engagement, and economic opportunity.

Because when Black businesses invest in Black traditions, they're helping carry a legacy forward.

Stay connected. Stay inspired. Stay cultured.
