ALL NEW MUST WATCH MOVIES AND TV SHOWS

Last year was a rough one for Hollywood, with COVID-19 delaying production for months and closing theaters for the foreseeable future. 2021 has some hope with most of the delayed films from last year making their debut this year. Comin 2 America will be making a triumphant debut to our screens in March, while series like Shonda Rhimes’
Bridgeton series takes over Netflix as one of the most popular releases of all time.

Soul

Disney Pixar film Soul premiered Christmas Day on Disney+ and instantly became a fan favorite. The Disney movie tells the story of a man named Joe (Jamie Foxx) who suddenly finds his soul detached from his body after falling into a hole while walking the streets of New York City. He desperately tries to get back to his real-life while
simultaneously mentoring a new soul, known as 22 (Tina Fey), on what it means to be alive. The new film is filled with hidden details and a deeper meaning you’ll have to watch to reveal.

Bridgerton

Shonda Rhimes’ ‘Bridgerton’ series, a period drama is a total Netflix hit. Honestly, it’s nothing less than we expect from the executive producer of hit show Grey’s Anatomy and political drama series Scandal. The series is based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels and focuses on the Briderton family who are rich and sadiddy but yet respected. They are known for their breed of nine children and the lords/ladies of the upper-class – taking place in London during the “social season.” Netflix invested $100 million into Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton being the first project of the deal. It’s safe to say Rhimes did it again with this one.

Malcom and Marie

From Disney to Netflix, Zendaya’s success continues to grow with streaming series, Malcolm and Marie. The story of love follows a filmmaker named Malcolm (Washington) and his girlfriend Marie (Zendaya) as the couple returns home from the film premiere of Malcolm’s newest movie and awaits its reception. The black-and-white movie dives into their relationship, as truths come to light and their love is tested.

Coming 2 America

I think this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for, Coming 2 America. Yes, you read that right the sequel continues to follow newly-crowned King Akeem and his trusted confidante Semmi as they embark on a hilarious journey that has them traveling the globe from their superior African nation to the borough of Queens, New York. The film will premiere on Friday, March 5 on Amazon Prime featuring the return of original cast members Eddie Murphy as Akeem, Arsenio Hall as Semmi, James Earl Jones as King Jaffe Joffer, Shari Headley as Queen Lisa, John Amos as Cleo McDowell, and Louie Anderson as Maurice, and the motley barbershop crew. Joining the crew are Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, KiKi Layne, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Teyana Taylor.
