Dave Chappelle is returning to Saturday Night Live to host the Post-Election Day Episode premiering on November 7th. It marks Chappelle’s first role hosting the show since he made his debut the weekend that Donald Trump became President.

During that show, Chappelle addressed the elephant in the room and wished the former host of Celebrity Apprentice luck, stating, “I’m going to give him a chance, and we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he gives us one too.”

Foo Fighters, the rock band, have been chosen as the musical guest on this weekend’s SNL. It marks the ninth time that the band, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its debut album, will have performed on the show.

The former Comedy Central star pocketed $20 million for not his first, but third Netflix special, Equanimity.” Offscreen, Chappell has kept busy during the pandemic. He spent the summer safely hosting big outdoor comedy shows featuring Chris Rock, Tiffany Haddish, Jon Stewart, Common, and more! It was nicknamed Chapelle’s “Summer Camp.”

Chappell’s latest appearance included the Atlanta Comedy Theater in Norcross on Oct. 30-Nov.1. Tickets were sold out in minutes. Some Atlanta Natives popped up to the show, including T.I., 2 Chainz, and Don “D.C.” Curry. Chris Tucker, who now resides in Atlanta, was one of Chappelle’s openers for each show.

Before the pandemic, the club capacity was 250. It’s currently running significantly reduced capacity to maintain social distancing. Chappelle paid for rapid Covid-19 tests, readily available for those in attendance, including staff, and special pouches to keep smartphones safely stored so the audience couldn’t record what’s happening.

A supportive fan says, “Knowing everyone in the venue was negative for Covid….made the experience extremely enjoyable because everyone seemed to feel comfortable.” They added, “Dave Chappelle delivered an incredible show, and the Atlanta comedy theater did a great job hosting.” It’s safe to say that this week’s Saturday Night Live is something you don’t want to miss.
