VP NOMINEE KAMALA HARRIS LEADS COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS IN MIAMI
Democratic VP nominee Kamala Harris led a discussion on Thursday entitled “Community Conversations” at Florida Memorial University with leaders. According to the campaign this was done “to discuss the challenges facing the African-American community in South Florida.
The conversation was led by Congresswoman Frederica Wilson. Wilson was joined by Miami Shores Mayor Crystal Wagar, NAACP Miami-Dade Chapter president Ruban Roberts, Miami‐Dade Chamber of Commerce president G. Eric Knowles, and Florida Memorial University president Dr. Jaffus Hardrick.Harris said the day was important to her and she wanted to listen. She posted on her official Facebook page about the discussion. “Sitting down with African American leaders in South Florida to discuss the challenges facing our communities and how a Biden-Harris administration can create a more just, equal America for all.” The conversation was joined by other local elected officials and ran the gambit of topics from health care and mental health to disenfranchised black businesses to education reform.
