A JOINT FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION ROOTED IN LEGACY, SISTERHOOD & SERVICE
By Julia Franklin
The spirit of unity filled the ballroom as nine Florida chapters and the Nassau, Bahamas Chapter of The Links, Incorporated gathered for a powerful and heartfelt Joint Founder’s Day Celebration—a tribute to the enduring legacy of friendship and service that has guided the organization for nearly eight decades. Under beautifully adorned décor and an atmosphere of grace, elegance, and purpose, members came together to honor the women whose vision continues to light the path for generations of leaders.
The event brought together an impressive roster of participants, including the Greater Miami, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Treasure Coast, Dade County, Nassau Bahamas, North Broward County, Miami-Biscayne Bay, and Greater Broward County chapters. The morning unfolded with thoughtful reflections, spirited presentations, and a warm exchange of sisterhood across chapter lines.
The programme, led with poise by Link Tamara Gant of the North Broward County (FL) Chapter, guided attendees through moments of reflection and joy. From the Invocation offered by Link Rosalind Osgood to the spirited “High Tea with a Twist” presented by Link Cheryl Walker-Robertson, each segment reminded members of the breadth of talent, leadership, and creativity that thrives within The Links.
The memorable Parade of Hats brought added delight, showcasing the individuality and flair of participating members from Treasure Coast and Miami-Biscayne Bay chapters. Special acknowledgements followed, highlighting the collective work that strengthens the organization’s reach across South Florida and beyond.
But the highlight—an unforgettable moment of vision and encouragement—came from National President Ethel Isaac Williams, Esq., who delivered an inspiring keynote that captivated the entire room.
Standing before a sea of green and white, President Williams spoke passionately about the power of legacy, the resilience of sisterhood, and the call to remain steadfast in service amidst an ever-changing world. Her message offered both reflection and charge—reminding members that the strength of the organization rests not only in its history, but in the active leadership and compassion of every Link in the room.
She urged attendees to look beyond the moment and imagine the future they are shaping through mentorship, community impact, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her words ignited a renewed sense of purpose, leaving many deeply moved, energized, and ready to continue the important work of transforming communities.
As brunch was served and conversations flowed across tables, the celebration transformed into a space where bonds were strengthened, new connections were formed, and the organization’s legacy was reaffirmed. The event closed with a united message from the South Florida and Nassau, Bahamas Chapter Presidents—an elegant reminder that the work of The Links is collective, powerful, and rooted in a sisterhood that continues to stand the test of time.
The Joint Founder’s Day Celebration was more than a gathering—it was a declaration of unity, gratitude, and commitment to the vision set forth by the Founders. And as members departed, they carried with them a renewed dedication to uplift, serve, and lead with integrity and grace.
