
SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER DR. STEVE GALLON III HONORED WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD BY THE MIAMI ALUMNI CHAPTER OF KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY, INC.
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Dr. Steve Gallon III was recognized for his outstanding dedication to public service and leadership with the prestigious Community Service Award by the Miami Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The award was presented during the organization’s distinguished 2025 Black & White Ball, an annual celebration of excellence and service attended by leaders, dignitaries, and community advocates.
Dr. Gallon, a proud and devoted member of Kappa Alpha Psi for 37 years, joined the bond in 1988 as a freshman at the Alpha Xi Chapter. His lifelong commitment to the fraternity’s core values of achievement and service continues to shape his work and leadership in education and the community.
The Community Service Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community empowerment, civic leadership, and transformative service. Dr. Gallon, a former school superintendent and current Miami-Dade County School Board Member for District 1, has consistently advocated for educational equity and opportunity for all students—especially those in underserved communities.
In accepting the honor, Dr. Gallon reflected on both his service and his fraternity roots: “To be recognized by the Brotherhood that helped shape my leadership and commitment to service is deeply meaningful. Kappa Alpha Psi has been a part of my journey since 1988, and I am proud to carry its mission forward through every facet of my work.”
