City of Opa-locka and MegaTV Spread Holiday Cheer with Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Special Guest: Rapper Caresha aka Yung Miami Joins the Celebration
The City of Opa-locka Mayor John H. Taylor, Jr. and Commission, in collaboration with MegaTV, successfully hosted a heartwarming Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Sherbondy Pavilion, located at 777 Sharazad Blvd., Opa-locka, FL.
The event, designed to ensure families in Opa-locka could enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal, distributed over 300 turkeys to local residents. Special guest Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee, founder of Caresha Gives, joined the celebration alongside her family and team, personally handing out turkeys and spreading holiday cheer.
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with MegaTV and Yung Miami for this wonderful event,” said Mayor Taylor. “This initiative is about giving back to our community and ensuring every family in Opa-locka has the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving with gratitude and togetherness.”
Residents who participated were required to present proof of residency, and the giveaway operated on a first-come, first-served basis. This year’s event continued the city’s tradition of fostering community spirit and support during the holiday season.
