South Florida Shines at the 8th Annual HBCU Picnic

The scorching heat couldn’t deter the faithful HBCU alumni and friends who gathered for the 8th annual South Florida HBCU Picnic. Held on Saturday, July 13th, from 2 pm to 7 pm at Florida Memorial University, this year’s event was a vibrant celebration of Black Love, Black Joy, and Black Power. It stands as the largest HBCU Picnic and the premier Black Professional event in South Florida, underscoring its importance in the community.

The picnic was more than just a festive gathering—it was a significant fundraiser, with money raised going towards athletic scholarships for students. This event, a collaboration of 26 HBCU alumni groups and six Greek-letter organizations, aims to strengthen the pipeline of students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Honoring a Rich Legacy

The South Florida HBCU Picnic pays homage to the rich legacy of HBCUs, uniting a vibrant community of Black professionals, alumni, students, and their families and friends from across South Florida and beyond. Recognized as the largest event for Black professionals in the region, the picnic offers a unique opportunity to connect with some of the most influential and well-connected members of the Black community in South Florida.
