“An opportunity to bring law enforcement and neighbors together is imperative because everyone needs to know our Department and ask us questions. Moreover, the children have a chance to see City of Opa-locka officers in a positive light,” said Kenneth D. Ottley, Chief of Police, City of Opa-locka. “The best way to build a safer community for the City of Opa-locka is to get to know our neighbors and our surroundings. We are truly looking forward to this year’s National Night Out.”
National Night Out is celebrated by communities across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth fairs, emergency personnel visits, exhibits, and more.
Join us on August 6, 2024, at Sherbondy Park for an evening of fun, food, and community spirit. This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet your neighbors, engage with local law enforcement, and build a stronger, safer community together.
