North Miami CRA Announces Lottery for 38 Affordable Housing Units for City Residents

North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA) is thrilled to announce a lottery for 38 affordable housing units available exclusively to residents of the City of North Miami who have maintained residency for a minimum of two years. This initiative underscores the agency’s commitment to providing accessible housing options for local residents and fostering community development in North Miami. The lottery application deadline is on April 25, 2024.

Residents must provide the following:
● Government-issued ID of the applicant and all household members
● Proof of income for the applicant and all household members; Six (6) consecutive
paystubs if paid weekly; Three (3) consecutive paystubs if paid bi-weekly
● Last three (3) consecutive Bank Statements (all pages) for every employed, self-
employed, or otherwise working individual in the household
● Proof of North Miami residence for at least two years
○ Utility bills, rental or lease agreements, bank or credit card statements showing your address, Official government document, driver’s license, or state identification card with your current address (issued at least two years ago

The NMCRA Board has authorized a transparent and equitable process to allocate affordable housing units across several NMCRA-funded projects. This initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to providing affordable housing options for residents in North Miami.

The allocated affordable housing units for the calendar year 2024 include:

The Gardens Residences
● Located at 1195 NE 126th Street, North Miami
● Total Units: 384
● Affordable Units: 38 units
● Expected Availability: June 2024 move-in
● Occupancy Criteria: Background check, criminal record check, rental history verification, credit score verification, and income verification

Residents of the affordable housing units will receive special benefits including a free parking space, options for internet/TV packages, and pet fee waivers. The NMCRA anticipates the availability of these units to make a meaningful impact on the affordable housing landscape in North Miami. The agency remains committed to
