ORANGE BLOSSOM CLASSIC IS BACK FOR ANOTHER EPIC WEEKEND OF HBCU FOOTBALL

During a time of segregation, the Orange Blossom Classic was one of the biggest events in Miami’s African-American community. Hosted by Florida A&M University, the football game was played every year from 1947 to 1978 at the Orange Bowl Stadium often attracting 40,000+ fans.

The Orange Blossom Classic is back for another year of classic HBCU football! The 48th Annual Orange Blossom Classic will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fl on Sunday September 4. Tickets are on sale at https://www.orangeblossomclassic.com/

Last year’s Labor Day weekend opener, which ended in a 7-6 victory by Jackson State, drew an average of 700,000 viewers on ESPN 2. It was the second-highest rated game of the day only behind Florida State-Notre Dame, on ABC, which drew 7.7 million viewers.

According to their site, the Orange Blossom Classic is an all-encompassing experience, designed to expose the rich history of Historically Black Colleges & Universities, highlight the beautiful City of Miami Gardens and to raise scholarship dollars for the participating schools.

They will be hosting many events throughout the weekend including the Elevation Experience, Orange Blossom Classic Golf Tournament, Careers In Sports and Entertainment Symposium and Career Fair, and so many more. Check out the full list of events below.
