LOGAN PAUL VS FLOYD MAYWEATHER RECAP

LOGAN PAUL VS FLOYD MAYWEATHER RECAP

Youtuber Logan Paul managed to go all eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition fight at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Sunday night.

The fighters combined only landed 73 punches. Of course, Mayweather landed the majority of the blows, and Paul struggled to connect. Once Paul realized he was coming up short, he decided to tie up Mayweather as part of a plan to remain on his feet for the eight rounds. It was a moral victory for the 26-year-old Paul. The social media sensation will go home richer and be able to say he went the distance with an undefeated living legend.

“I want anyone to tell me anything is impossible ever again,” Paul said. “The fact I’m in here with the GOAT means the odds can be beaten. Everyone can beat the odds and do great things. Floyd Mayweather, it was an honor.”

The exhibition game was considered a joke by many. Still, the stadium was full of fans, and Showtime’s servers crashed due to the pay-per-view demand. As a result, many viewers were left disappointed.

Speaking of disappointed, many Mayweather fans online were upset that Paul didn’t get KO’d. A Twitter user tweeted, “I feel robbed and I didn’t even pay for the fight 💀 All that crazy stupid hype for this! Win for Money #Mayweather for securing the bag as always 💰 and Win for #LoganPaul for not getting KO’d…Win-Win!”

“I had fun,” Mayweather said. “You’ve got to realize I’m not 21 anymore. I had fun moving around with these guys. He was better than I thought he was. This was fun.”

Mayweather was asked during the press conference if he would fight professionally again, and he basically said, hell no.

“This may be the last time we see him in the ring. Whether you liked the exhibition or not, whether you agree with it or not, give this man his flowers today,” Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza said after the fight.

All in all, it was a win-win for both fighters. They both were the trending topic across the nation and went home with their bank accounts full.
