DRÉ DAVIS TAKES ON NEW ROLE AS FANBASE’S DIRECTOR OF TALENT/INFLUENCER RELATIONS

Dre Davis, who began his career as the studio manager of Red Zone Entertainment sat down with essence to discuss his new role as Director of Talent/Influencer Relations of Fanbase.

Fanbase is a platform that allows creators to monetize their content and grow their fanbase. Once creators sign up, they can upload exclusive content and communicate with fans via livestream or chat. Creators can set a price for monthly subscriptions or one-time payments for their audience. Users can also grow their following organically with the ability to follow each other for free on the platform.

“I’m excited to be joining the Fanbase team and dive into the incredible work we’re starting this year,” Davis told ESSENCE exclusively. “Disparities in the social media landscape are nothing new but my hope is through Fanbase we innovate new ways that reverse the systemic problems many of these young creators, especially Black creators, face every day with monetization. With the support already coming in from big names across industries like Snoop Dogg and Charlamagne Tha God we really are on the precipice of some important and impactful work ahead.”

Some of Davis’ responsibilities will include expanding Fanbase’s digital footprint. After 20 years in the music industry, he will also be managing the presence of A-list influencers and public figures such as Snoop Dogg, Charlamagne Tha God, Kandi Burruss, YNB Almighty Jay, and more!

The digital space is beginning to pivot in this same direction. Platforms such as OnlyFans and Patreon are gaining popularity. The majority of creators and influencers want to be paid (as they should) for the content that they put out. Free platforms such as Instagram have already adjusted their platform to create revenue for creators and compete with platforms such as Fanbase. The app is currently available for Apple users in the app store and will soon be accessible to android users.
