INSIDE TIGER WOODS’ NEAR FATAL CAR CRASH

Tiger Woods was driving a luxury SUV when he crashed and rolled over last Tuesday in Southern California, causing severe injuries.

Woods had to undergo emergency surgery and was found “awake, responsive, and recovering in his hospital room” after undergoing emergency surgery. During his procedure, Woods received a rod to stabilize his tibia and femur bones, while screws and pins were assessed to stabilize injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle, according to the statement below.

Since then, the Los Angelos County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant Monday.

“We’re trying to determine if a crime was committed,” Sheriff’s Deputy John Schloegl said. “If somebody is involved in a traffic collision, we’ve got to reconstruct the traffic collision, if there was any reckless driving, if somebody was on their cellphone or something like that. We determine if there was a crime. If there was no crime, we close out the case, and it was a regular traffic collision.”

The investigators are after a black box in the vehicle Woods was driving. A black box stores data from a vehicle’s activity, such as break activity, speed, and acceleration. This data can be downloaded by police officers investigating a crash. There aren’t any federal regulations requiring the boxes, but the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says nearly all vehicles have them now.

Woods was moved from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for continued orthopedic care and recovery.
