BARACK OBAMA “A PROMISED LAND” IS NOW AVAILABLE

Former President Barack Obama’s first volume of his presidential memoirs “A Promised Land” is finally here and set to launch Tuesday, November 17th, 2020. I think we’ve all waited for this day since the release of Michelle Obama’s award-winning book “Becoming,” published two years ago. Her book sold 10 million copies in six months, 1.4 million copies within the first week.

Barack Obama candidly reflects on his journey in the White House and writes of life and hope in the center of a deeply divided nation. Obama knows we may not get to “a promised land” in our lifetimes, but he titled the book to showcase his faith that we can create not a perfect union, but an ideal union.

Obama writes, “The fuss of being president, the pomp, the press, the physical constraints-all that I could’ve done without.” In a recent interview with Gayle King, he expresses his family’s struggle as they adjusted to being in the white house. “There’s this weird isolation that you begin to feel,” Obama recalled. He clarifies that he never got used to it (feeling isolated) while serving his eight years of office. He courageously speaks on leading the country, “The peaceful transfer of power, the notion that any of us who attain an elected office…. are servants of the people, it’s a temporary job, we’re not above the rules we’re not above the law. That’s the essence of our democracy.”

The pandemic crisis has caused books to surge as printers have huge backlogs filling orders for popular books. It was reported that Obama’s publisher had to print 1.5 million copies of “A Promised Land” in Germany. Selected stores such as Kramers and Politics and Prose are preparing to open their doors at midnight and follow proper COVID-19 procedures to ensure safety for the big launch. The book is available for pre-order and purchase online at Amazon.com, the Apple Book Store, and more! Enjoy the audiobook narrated by former President Barack Obama himself, available on the same or similar websites.
