
BLACK MUSIC AWARDS HONORING MARY MARY, KERI HILSON, DRU HIILL, AND MORE
Black Music Honors is back for their 7th annual award show honoring some of the most influential artists in the industry. LeToya Luckett & DeRay Davis will host the two-hour ceremony on May 19 in Atlanta, Georgia. The televised special is set to air in national broadcast syndication Saturday, June 4 – Sunday, July 3, and on Bounce TV on Saturday, June 25.
This year’s honorees are the singing R&B group Dru Hill who will receive the Urban Music Icon Award; Tevin Campbell with the R&B Icon Award, Mary Mary with the Gospel Icon Award, Karyn White with the Soul Music Award; Keri Hilson with the Music and Songwriter Icon Award and the Legendary R&B Group The Whispers with the Legends Award.
The event is set to have a star-studded performance line up gracing the stage including Kid N’ Play, 112, Carl Thomas, Raheem DeVaughn, Amber Riley, PJ Morton, Eric Bellinger, Avery Wilson, Jade Novah, Keedron Bryant, Ajah and Rhea Walls from The Walls Group, Tasha Page-Lockhart, Crystal Aikin, Sheléa, Kevin Ross, and Eric Roberson.
The 7th Annual Black Music Honors show is Executive Produced by Don Jackson, with Jennifer J. Jackson serving as Producer and Michael A. Johnson as Producer and Director.
Don Jackson, founder and executive producer of the star-studded event, shared in a statement, “We are more than excited to return to in-person taping for the first time in nearly three years with a live studio audience. The pandemic had an unprecedented impact on the music industry and we’re honored to celebrate, commemorate and honor music trailblazers who have paved the way for the next generation of music and culture.”
