STACEY ABRAMS HONORED WITH CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS BODY AWARD FOR TRANSFORMATIVE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WORK
Stacey Abrams was recognized and appreciated for her efforts in mobilizing the Black vote. She virtually received the Congressional Black Caucus Body Award at the Phoenix Awards, the signature event of the 50th Annual Legislative Conference.
It’s no secret that Black people are the best leaders in the world. Stacey Abrams is one name that cannot be detached from the tireless efforts that never failed to bear results. She is an American politician, a lawyer, a voting rights activist, and an author. Stacey Yvonne Abrams served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2007 to 2017. Moreover, her services as a minority leader from 2011 to 2017 are remarkable.
No doubt, hard work pays off. And when it is combined with dedication and passion for achieving a target, success becomes inevitable. The same happened in the case of Stacey Abrams. Stacey Abrams Congressional Black Caucus award was given for her spearheaded efforts that were focused on racial equity. She has been a two-time honoree as well as a nominee for Nobel Peace Prize.
President Joe Biden thanked Stacey for her impact that flipped Georgia blue. She made all this possible through her organization, Fair Fight. The mission and vision of her national voting rights organization is to cultivate equitable spaces in the realm of politics.
Her continued advocacy work for national voting rights was recognized as “unparallelled excellence in mobilizing the Black vote,” as announced by the CBCF in a press release. After receiving the award, Stacey showed her gratitude by thanking the CBCF for recognizing her efforts made for voting rights. She further said that this award is proof of her organization’s work, Fair Fight. Fair Fight has been doing for fair elections and the battle she has been fighting on the frontline for federal voting rights legislation.
Stacey also thanked and appreciated CBCF’s participation and the support they have always offered to reach out to communities that were otherwise left behind under the disguise of some “big lies” and “small untruths”.
She said that the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation has always helped let underserved communities understand the value of their vote and voice. She further added that standing in solidarity with CBCF has been an honor because their collective efforts are directed to help everyone enjoy full perquisites without discrimination based on color and race.
