KYRIE IRVING BANNED FROM PLAYING WITH BROOKLYN NETS UNTIL HE’S FULLY VACCINATED

While the 2021-22 NBA season is all set to tip off on Tuesday, one man Kyrie Irving is the center of the debate.

Sean Mark, the general manager of the Brooklyn Nets, surprised us with an unexpected announcement. He stated earlier this week that Kyrie Irving wouldn’t be allowed to practice with the team until he gets vaccinated against Covid-19. Sean further explained that the decision was made after discussing the matter in detail with other team staff. However, he held the responsibility of being the final decision maker along with the team’s owner, Joe Tsai.

Mark stated that the decision was made in favor of the entire team. Due to Kyrie’s decision of not getting jabbed, he won’t be able to participate as a full-time player on the team, according to New York City’s local vaccine mandate.

New York city’s new vaccine requirements states everyone needs to have at least one dose of the Covid 19 vaccine to enter any public area. The compulsion is the same for NBA players. It includes the use of indoor gyms, meaning Irving is not permitted to enter Barclays Centre, the home of Nets, without getting vaccinated.

What’s Kyrie’s Stance on this Decision?

Initially, Irving has kept himself from showing any response to media. Eventually, he addressed the situation via Instagram live. On Wednesday evening, he discussed his thoughts live with his fans and followers. Irving explained that he is unvaccinated because he has the right to make decisions that he thinks are best for him and his family. He further told people that before the commencement of the season, he was promised to get the exemptions and won’t be forced to get vaccinated.

Moreover, a sigh of relief came from Kyrie’s fans after he announced that he is not being retired or leaving the game. The last few words in his IG live interaction spread positive vibes of motivation among his fans. This is what he said:

“There’s still so much more work to do and there’s still so many other youngins to inspire. Because I know they want to be better than me. And I can’t wait to play against all y’all on this stage.”

The Brooklyn Nets home opener is set on Sunday, 24th October. So, Kyrie still has a chance to rejoin his team by getting at least one shot of the Covid 19 vaccine. If not, there’s no doubt his decision will negatively impact the chemistry between the team players on the court and slim the chance of the team’s championship goal.
