WHAT’S NEW AND BLACK ON NETFLIX

It’s time to get your Netflix list ready because who knows if this Delta Variant will put us back into quarantine, or you may just be up for some Netflix and Chill. Netflix came hot and ready this month with everything from throwback comedies to thrillers.

Friday Night Lights

Within the last year, Netflix has been racking up on the throwbacks. Now, we get to watch Michael B. Jordan fall in love with Jurnee Smollett in his younger days.

The Original Kings of Comedy

We can’t talk throwbacks without bringing up The Original Kings of Comedy. It’s nothing like being able to relive the glory days of REAL comedy with Bernie Mac, D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, and Steve Harvey.

The Upshaws (A Netflix Original)

Wanda Skyes and Mike Epps teamed up in the executive production of this new series. The comedy is about a Black Indiana family fighting their way to the next tax bracket while battling the everyday struggles.

Major Payne

Damon Wayne’s antics will have your stomach hurting. Major Payne is centered around a marine that is given his marching orders and must now lead a disorderly group of mismatched cadets into a junior ROTC competition.

All American

All American’s Season 3 just made its way from The CW to Netflix. For those who are already fans, not only do we get to see Coach Baker and Spencer face the struggles of being back at Crenshaw High but also who wins the football state championship. One of the season’s biggest questions is, is Coop going to die?

Sisters on Track

Sisters on Track follows Tai, Rainn, and Brooke Sheppard being named SportsKids of the Year. The sisters moved into a Brooklyn homeless shelter with their mother, Tonia Handy, when she could no longer afford their rent. Although, the girls didn’t let their struggles define them. They stayed on track to compete in the sport at an elite level.
